When your body feels restricted, painful or out of balance, it can be difficult to know what is actually causing the problem.
At Core Pilates Oban, remedial therapy and NeuroKinetic Therapy are used to help identify how your body is moving, where compensation patterns may be showing up, and what support you need to move with more ease and confidence.
This work is assessment led, practical and focused on understanding the root cause rather than simply chasing symptoms.
Remedial Therapy and NeuroKinetic Therapy in Oban
Who this is for
Remedial therapy and NeuroKinetic Therapy may be helpful if you are:
Living with persistent aches or discomfort
Recovering from injury
Experiencing recurring pain or tightness
Feeling restricted in your movement
Noticing one side of your body feels weaker or less coordinated
Struggling with posture, movement habits or compensation patterns
Returning to exercise after time away
Looking for a more personalised approach to recovery
What is NeuroKinetic Therapy?
NeuroKinetic Therapy, often called NKT, is a movement assessment system that looks at how your brain and body communicate during movement.
Sometimes pain or restriction is not caused by one muscle being “tight” or “weak” on its own. Instead, your body may have learned a compensation pattern after injury, surgery, pregnancy, stress, repetitive movement or long term posture habits.
NKT helps identify which muscles may be overworking, underworking or not coordinating well together. From there, Jenny can guide you through specific corrective exercises to help retrain better movement patterns.
What to expect
Your session may include:
A discussion about your symptoms, history and goals
Posture and movement assessment
Muscle testing and functional movement checks
Hands on remedial therapy where appropriate
Corrective exercises tailored to your body
Advice to help support your progress between sessions
The aim is to help you understand what is going on, reduce compensation patterns and build a clearer route back to confident movement.
A personalised approach to recovery
No two bodies present in exactly the same way. Your session will be shaped around your needs, your movement patterns and what your body is showing on the day.
Jenny combines clinical reasoning, remedial therapy, NeuroKinetic Therapy and movement based rehabilitation to support long term change, not quick fixes.
