Support for your core, pelvic floor, posture and breathing

Hypopressives are a gentle breathing and postural technique that can support deep core function, pelvic floor health, posture and body awareness.

At Core Pilates Oban, Jenny offers calm, tailored Hypopressive sessions to help you reconnect with your body and feel stronger from the inside out.

They can be especially helpful after pregnancy and birth, during perimenopause, or if you are experiencing symptoms such as heaviness, leaking, pressure, poor posture or a loss of core confidence.

Hypopressives at Core Pilates Oban

What are Hypopressives?

Hypopressives use specific breathing techniques and postures to support the way your core and pelvic floor work together.

Unlike traditional core exercises, they do not involve crunches, sit ups or high pressure abdominal work. Instead, they focus on breath, alignment, posture and gentle core connection.

Who are they for?

Hypopressives may be helpful if you are:

  • Rebuilding after pregnancy or birth

  • Experiencing pelvic floor weakness, heaviness or leaking

  • Navigating perimenopause or menopause

  • Feeling disconnected from your core

  • Struggling with posture or breath holding

  • Wanting gentle support before returning to stronger exercise

You do not need to be experienced in Pilates to begin. Jenny will guide you step by step.

What to expect

Your first session will begin with a conversation about your symptoms, goals and movement history.

Jenny will then guide you through the breathing technique, postures and gentle progressions at a pace that feels right for you.

You will learn how to practise safely, understand your breath, connect with your deep core and build confidence in your body.
